Title : THE CHARACTERISTICS OF WINTERDUKE F1 WINTER CABAGE SORT, UNDER THE ZETA VALLEY CONDITIONS
Abstract : The possibility of winter cabbage cultivation sort Winterduke F1 and influence of planting data on growth dynamic, cabbage head quality and total yield under agroecologic conditions of Zeta Valley. During 1996 and 1997 three planting data were investigated: 15. VII; 29.VII and 13. VIII. Results of cabbage growth dynamic in field showed that plants intensively increase the leaf rosette, and after the period it starts to form heads. The head quality was evaluated according to shape, density, mass and content of dry matter. According to presented results it can be concluded that the cabbage head quality was very good. The highest yield was in first planting data and significantly loss in second and third planting data. That means that this sort of cabbage gives the best yield if it is planted until the end of July. The two year investigation of sort Winterduke F1 showed that it is completely suitable for wide spread usage in practice.
