Title : THE POSSIBILITY OF BROCCOLI (BRASSICA OLERACEA VAR. GEMMIFERA) GROWING IN ZETA VALLEY
Abstract : The main aim of the investigation was introduction of broccoli on area of Zeta Valle, the area where broccoli is not well known. The possibility of broccoli growing on open field was investigated during two year period and results are presented in this paper. The vegetable period, the data of top side inflorescences, their characteristics and total yield were investigated. The weight, diameter and compact inflorescences and length of blossom bough were measured. The length of vegetation period varied from 112 to 127 days. The average length of top inflorescences harvesting was 24 days, and side inflorescences 35 days. The diameter of top inflorescences was 12,6-17,6 cm, length of blossom bought 3,8-4,3 cm and compactness 2-3. The diameter of side inflorescences was 5,7-9,4 c, length of blossom bough 4,6=5,0 cm and compactness 3. Mass of top inflorescences was 294,50 to 312,64 g, and yield was 14,08-19,11 t/ha. According to those results the conclusion is that Zeta Valley area has favorable agro-ecologic conditions for broccoli growth.
