I was born on October 24, 1954 in Podgorica. I graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad in 1980, where I defended the Master thesis at the Group for Viticulture in 1986. I defended the doctoral dissertation in the field of viticulture in 1993 at the Faculty of Agronomy in Čačak, Serbia.

My first employment was in Agro-complex “13.jul Plantaze” in 1981, as intern in viticulture production, and then in the Institute of Agro-economy in Podgorica, where I worked on viticulture projects. Since 1987, I have been working at the Biotechnical Institute in Podgorica, as researcher in the field of viticulture. At the Biotechnical Institute, I was appointed to all the titles, starting from the Senior Researcher, Research Associate, Senior Research Associate to the Principal Research Fellow. During my employment with the Biotechnical Institute I attended a specialization course in the field of viticulture for 3 months at the Faculty of Agriculture in Odessa, USSR, in 1986.

In the period 1994 to 1998, I was the Head of the Department for Viticulture, Fruit Growing and Oenology in Podgorica, and held the same position since 2001 until the opening of the Biotechnical Faculty. I was assistant professor on part-time basis at the University of Kragujevac in 1995 on the subject Viticulture, of the Faculty of Agronomy in Čačak. From 1998 to 2001 I was the Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management in the Government of Montenegro.

So far I have been the author or co-author of about 100 scientific papers, a practicum and a book. I am one of assistant-breeders of 8 new grape vine varieties developed at the Biotechnical Institute in Podgorica.

I was the leader of several projects in the field viticulture financed by the Ministry of Science and Education of Montenegro. I was a member of the Yugoslav Commission for the recognition of new varieties of grape vine, as well as a member of various technical and administrative bodies at the Institute, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Montenegro.

On the occasion of 60th anniversary of the year Institute (1997) I was awarded the Silver Plaque of the Biotechnical Institute.

As the Head of the Department of Viticulture, Fruit Growing and Oenology I lead the team of the Department in planting 20 hectares of new grape vine plants of the Vranac variety at the Experimental Plot in Lješkopolje.

At the Biotechnical Faculty I teach General and Special Viticulture and practical training in graduate studies. For post-graduate studies I teach also ampelography, nursery production and grapevine agro-techniques.

I was a mentor of several specialisation theses in the field of viticulture, as well as a mentor for eight master theses.
