Born in 1947.

Researcher in Plant Pathology at the Poplar Research Institute of Casale Monferrato (1972-1986).

Associate professor in Wood Pathology at the Agriculture Faculty of the University of Turin (1987-1992). 

From 1993, Full Professor of Forest Pathology at the University of Tuscia, Viterbo. Coordinator of "Dottorato di Ricerca" PhD on Plant Protection. Associated editor of the Journal of Plant Pathology (2000-2002). Referee of Petria, Phitopathologia Mediterranea, Chemosphere, Journal of Plant Pathology, Informatore fitopatologico. Member of Board of Examination of several international PhD Thesis. Invited speaker on numerous National and international Congress.

Member of the Italian Plant Protection Association, Italian Association of Mycology, Poplar Disease Commission of FAO, several IUFRO Working parties, Academy of Agriculture of Turin, Forestry Academy of Florence. Author of 330 papers on the biology, epidemiology, pathogenicity and control of several forest disease agents.

Over 40 years of teaching experience in University Courses: “Forest Pathology”; “Plant pathology”; “Plant integrated control”;  “Regulatory control and plant quarantines”, Tropical Pathology (in Mozambique).
